UNDER CONSTRUCTION

We're going to
keep it simple.

Nothing you read here should feel innovative. This is a basic process aimed at getting us from "in need at Point A," to "happy at Point B" as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Strategy

We'll start with the end in mind, thinking about potential land mines along the way.

Pre-production

This might not feel necessary, but an hour spent here saves multiple hours down the line.

Production

Lights, camera, action… this is where the shooting, recording and animating happens.

Post-production

After we capture, we edit. This is where we add the creative touches that make it "you."

Review & Approval

Not gonna lie, this stage is usually painful for artists. The good news for us is, you pay by the hour, so it goes as fast as you want it to!

If you need your finished product uploaded and managed somewhere, I can help.

Strategy

We'll get together (in person or remote) to answer some questions and start sharing ideas. Some of the questions will be:

  • Who is the audience for the video, and any relevant specifics you may know.

  • What's your vision for the video?

  • What do you want people to feel, think, and do after watching it?

  • Who is the final approver of the project?

  • What's your deadline?

If you've already answered these questions, great. If you don' t have all the answers (or need some helping coming up with them), don't worry. We'll figure it out together!

If I've already done another project like yours, I'll talk you through it and give you an estimate of how much it cost in the past.

Pre-production

You'll introduce me to your internal creative or design team (if you have them), share your brand guidelines and assets (if you have them), and ask your IT team to help me get connected to any storage systems (if you have them). We'll write scripts, sketch storyboards, and do everything we can to make the next steps run like butter.

Again, if there are any parts of this you don't have or need help creating, I can help.

Production

Now we do the work to capture, record, and build everything. Think of this stage as gathering the "raw materials" that we'll sculpt, refine, and perfect over the next two steps.

Maybe we'll have scheduled shoots on locations; maybe I'll visit your office or site to collect some b-roll, or maybe we'll record voiceovers or produce original music.

Post-production

This part can feel like a mystery wrapped in an enigma that's been dropped into a black hole. That's why I set up a project tracker and time log so you can see what I'm working on, how long it's taking, and any proofs or updates I have to show along the way.

I like to check in fairly often to be sure I'm on the right track according to the original vision, any new requirements that might have come up, or any ideas we've developed.
